Public Relations Strategy

After spending 20 years producing newscasts in 5 different states and running a TV Newsroom in Madison, Wisconsin, I understand what it takes to get your story into the hands of local journalists. I was the “guy” who determined if your news release warranted news coverage. I also spent 3 years running communications for the State Treasurer of Wisconsin. That involved getting statewide news coverage in small county papers and all television and radio markets in the state.

Public Relations is time-consuming without a strategy in place. It’s not just “writing a news release” and sending it to the generic emails listed on the news organization’s websites. PR strategy involves a long-term view of the end goal for your business as well as reaching out personally to news stakeholders and talking with them about the story you want covered.

I can work with owners, founders, communication directors and marketing teams to figure out the best strategy to get your news out to the masses and ensure your news is told the way YOU want it told. I can also help your business come up with a strategy to have your own “digital newsroom” on your own website. Why let outsiders control your message when you can control it yourself?

Let’s talk about your Public Relations goals!
